Country music owes its roots to the popular musical traditions from the southern parts of the United States. It began gathering steam in the 1920's, and various genres, like Celtic music,and folk music began to gain prominence through the good country songs at the time. Today, country and western music has evolved into a completely different genre, with a large number of sub styles placed within it, but country musicians still have an undying fan base and a large majority of music lovers are absolutely crazy about the soft guitar and the western style vocals of the genre.
