An American TV's Comedy Series, Love American Style

Love American Style is an American comedy series that is aired from September 29, 1969 to January 11, 1974 on ABC Network. It ran for five seasons and has total 108 episodes. The running time of each episode was adjusted to 30 minutes for season from 1970 to 1971, and 60 minutes for first two seasons. The theme music composers of the series are Charler Fox and Arnold Margolin. The total duration of all episodes is 93 hours collectively.

Love American Style is produced by Paramount TV. The show was designed in such a manner that it featured different stories of romance, with a comedic spin. The episodes of the series do not relate to each other. Characters, stories, and locations are all different for different episodes. It is the music of Charles Fox that tied the stories together as a multifaceted romantic comedy each week. In the first season the theme song of the series was performed by The Cowsills, whereas the theme song of the second season was sung by John Bahler, Tom Bahler, and Ron Hicklin. There are many mini comedic soap opera forms that had been used in the series

Actually the title of the series is derived from an Italian comedy film called "Divorzio all'italiana", which won Academy Award nominations in 1962. A new version of the series also aired on ABC's daytime schedule in 1985 entitled "New Love, American Style". The ratings of the new series was very low as compare to "The Price Is Right" on CBS, due to which it was canceled after a few months. The third edition of the show was shot as a pilot for the 1998 to 1999 TV season but was not ordered into a series, but was aired by ABC on February 20, 1999.

In 1971, Garry Marshall decided to make a new sitcom about teenagers growing up in the 1950s, by using this concept he made shot a pilot and named it as New Family In Town. He selected a new cast for that sitcom, the stars were Ron Howard played by Richie, Marion Ross played by Richie's Mother, Potsie in the role of Anson Williams, Harold Gould played by Howard, Susan Neher played by Joanie, and Chuck in the role of Ric Crrott.

The series of Love, American Style was released on DVD. The volume one of the season one was released in region one on November 20, 2007, whereas the volume two of the season one was released on March 11, 2008. The volumes, one and two that were released on DVD have 12 episodes in each.
