Melrose Place is an American TV primetime soap opera that was aired on Fox from July 9, 1992 to May 24, 1999, in United States. Melrose Place completed its seven seasons, the total numbers of episodes for whole series were 262, and the length of each episode was adjusted to 44 minutes. Its second series is also broadcast from September 8, 2009 to April 13, 2010, on CW TV Network. Actually the creator of the show was Darren Starr who created it for Fox network. Aaron Spelling produced it for Spelling Television. The show is set in the region where young individuals reside, in the West Hollywood suburb of Los Angeles. The show was started with small stories fixing in one episode, but this method did not become popular and finally the writers decided to develop long term stories, duration of one season at least.
The show was first appeared on stage on July 8, 1992, and soon introduced at 19 on the Nielsen Ratings. In 1993, the series of Melrose Place won the People's Choice Award because it was watched by 10.38 million viewers during its time.
The main characters of the show are Dr. Michael Mancini played by Thomas Calabro, Josie Bissett in the role of Jane Mancini, Billy Campbell played by Andrew Shue, Courtney Thorne Smith appeared in the role of Alison Parker, Jake Hanson by Grant Show, Matt Fielding by Doug Savant, Vanessa A. Williams in the role of Rhonda Blair, and Sandy Harling played by Amy Locane.
Dr. Michael Mancini is a physician works at Wilshire Memorial Hospital and His wife Jane is a fashion designer. Billy Campbell is a writer who does not want to spend his life under the control of his parents. Alison Parker serves as a receptionist at D&D Advertising. Jake Hanson, Matt Fielding, and Rhonda serve as bad boy biker, gay social worker, and aerobics instructor respectively. Locane is a Southern belle actress who serves as a waitress at a bar known as Shooters. The role of Locane was canceled after 13 episodes and replaced it by Daphne Zuniga who is a photographer running away from her husband. Actress Heather who appeared in first season as a guest star, was given the series regular status in the second season and remained with the show till end. Laura Leighton who was also a guest star in first season, was promoted as a series regular star for season two. At the end of second season Marcia Cross was also become a regular star
