The Greatest Cartoon of The 80's - Transformers TV Series

The Transformers has been a household name for as long as we all can remember. If you grew up in the eighties, then chances are you owned a transformer toy or two. It was incorporated into toys as well as any other item you could think of, that children of all ages would want. From lunch toys to lunch boxes The Transformers were everywhere and they still are today.

There was also a Marvel comic book that appeared about the same time as the Transformers TV series but in the end it went in a completely different direction. The cartoon and the TV series shared many similarities but that is the extent of it. With all the different varieties of the Transformers, the cartoon series is still perhaps the most popular of them all. People of all ages have been watching the transformers and playing with the transformer toys for many years. You can be sure almost everyone has tried a time or two to switch the toy from car to robot.

When people talk about the transformers TV series they most likely think of the story of how it all started. They will remember the home planet of the transformers called Cybertron and how they crash landed on Earth millions of years ago to meet and become friends with a teenage boy. The boy had different names in the TV series and in the comic. He was called Spike in the cartoon and Buster in the comic book series.

Most every kid was enchanted with the new cartoon series when it came out. They had an action toy that could transform right before their eyes just as their imagination had dreamed. The Transformers was popular right from the first time it aired on television. Kids of all ages were buying up the toys, comics and watching the show as much as they could. They could have their own adventures of the transformers with their own action figures, allowing then endless hours of pure enjoyment.

The show became popular with the star wars fans for the way it started out with the deep voice over in the beginning portraying it as a huge and mythological show ("Many millions of years ago, on the planet Cybertron..."). Many of the shows main characters became idolized by children. These characters became icons and their legends are still relived through the hearts of children everywhere. Some of the main characters you may remember may be: Soundwave, Bumblebee, Ravage, and Jazz to name a few.

The most well known of the characters would be: Megatron, Optimus Prime and Starscream.
