How Cable TV Providers Dominate Their Market?

One of the reasons why cable TV providers dominate their own market is their audience. Since the first television set was invented in the early decades, it has become a tool for their entertainment needs. Most of us cannot live without a single television set in our home; because we can watch anything we want depend on the signal of the antenna or the cable itself. Audience is the key for the service providers to earn profits through their prepaid, monthly or annual subscription. The purpose of watching TV is for you not to be bored while staying at home. It is also considered to be a tool that may let you save money from going to malls and shop any item you want. In the early decades, television sets can transmit their signals from a local TV station through their adjustable antennas. Antenna is one part of a television that allows us to watch a local TV station that transmits through our area to their station. Most local television stations have their own huge antenna, which is the key to transmit signals into numerous television sets in their respective areas.

The antenna must be hundred times higher in order to increase the signals to other places that are very far from them. However, they are also concerned about their audience on sticking to just one TV station. This is where cable TV was born and introduced to the public. The gap between regular antenna-type televisions from cable TV are very far. Unlike regular television sets, cable TV will give you access to over hundreds of channels to watch. Some channels are purely focused on one niche or interest like sports, education, lifestyle, fashion, movies, music and a whole lot more. For example, if we are talking about ESPN and Star Sports, it mainly focuses on different sporting events, news, updates and rumors. When we are talking about CNN and Fox News, they only focused on world news, updates, events and professional talk shows. But there are some channels that have a variety of niches, but it is most common to local TV stations. Every cable TV provider needs to know more about the needs of their audience. In order for them to dominate the entire cable TV market, they have to research and take their time to know the expectations from their audience.

One of the expectations you may receive from the customers are the number of channels. Most of them prefer lots of channels for their cable TV; however there is no guarantee for that. This is where cable television providers are taking serious action to include channels in their system. Depending on what package are they purchasing, it will not guarantee that all channels will be at present. On the other hand, if they are interested to purchase a very expensive cable television package, it will give them a high percentage that their channels are included in the system. This is where cable television providers are finding ways to dominate their own market. Every cable television provider has their own competitors, and it is a wake-up call for them to know who's better and who's not. The only thing that will keep their company alive is through their respective television viewers, who are watching cable TV everyday.
