Boogie Woogie popularized with their punching 'Boo' and it was the first show of its kind launched by Javed Jaffri, Naved and Ravi Behl.
They proposed the idea of introducing a dance show that allowed people from all over India to display their talents as dancers. This show was launched by Sony Entertainment Television almost ten years ago, and still people watch and participate in it tirelessly. The craze of this show has never seen a low phase.
Naved and Ravi are the judges of the show, and Javed Jaffri is the permanent celebrity judge.
Along with the talent they promote, they also add a touch of comedy and zeal in their show by cracking harmless jokes which are usually among and on themselves.
The concept, the theme, etc. keeps changing from weekly and thus keeps their viewers glued to the TV screen. They also do not hesitate to bring ladies over 30 in age on the show.
In true sense, they illustrate that if you have the will to dance, they will let you dance. Obviously, due to popularity of the show, the entry level to get into the show is also quite tough with series of screening that they perform before the final some people are short listed.
Quite rightly this can be justified, because of the limited number of on-air hours that they get per week to telecast their show, thus they have to choose the best out of the best.
Boogie Woogie had been off air from Sony and was telecast on Star Plus under the brand name Ka-Boom, with another celebrity guest Prabhu Deva, a famous dancer and actor. Ka-Boom was themed as a talent hunt show but failed drastically. Javed, Naved and Ravi are back on Sony with the original show Boogie Woogie again, and this time at a much higher level. The platform is bigger and better on its re-launch and a lot of theme episodes are being organized.
