Cas Haley - A True American Talent With Or Without a TV Show

Musical aptitude is a skill that appears hard to locate among the slew of chart topping pop singers getting by with good looks and a great agent, but Cas Haley is not a pop star and his abilities existed long before appearing on television. Haley would be best known for his rise to the almost top on the television show America's Got Talent. His debut performance on AGTwas Walking on the Moon, originally done by The Police in 1979, and within twenty seconds of beginning he had all three judges sitting with wide eyes and jaws wondering how this man had not been previously discovered and promptly catapulted to the top of the charts. Even though he finished his run at number two, the program was nothing more than a catalyst to propel him into the next level of his true calling, writing and composing music.

His debut solo album, Cas Haley, was released on February 14, 2008 and consists of twelve very catchy reggae tracks including two covers, the aforementioned track by Sting and Easy by Lionel Richie. It may seem difficult to believe that any song by Lionel Richie could seamlessly morph into reggae, but Haley took this originally slow and steady groove and transformed it into a danceable reggae jam. The remaining ten original songs are written and produced by Haley showcasing his humor, love, sensitivity and passion for writing music and lyrics. A wide range of instruments -- trumpet, sax, hand-drum, upright bass, drum -- compliment his unique voice perfectly; it is easy to see why America fell in love with this humble and gifted musician and will continue to support his budding career.

Haley began a United States tour in early June 2008, kicking off the dates in his home state of Texas before heading east. Throughout his four week tour Haley will play in thirteen states including some big cities such as Chicago, New York, Boston and Atlanta to name just a few. He will be playing pubs and small standing room only type venues which have showcased the talents of musicians such as Jack Johnson, Ben Taylor and Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters to cite just a few. Each venue on his tour holds a few hundred fans; small enough to be an intimate experience yet large enough to begin spreading a buzz that will likely bring him back to a larger venue in each city on his next go around.

Haley has the skill and raw talent that is necessary to maintain in a business that is not always kind to openly sensitive people as he has proclaimed himself to be. With the love and support of his band, Woodbelly, as well as his family, he will set out on this initial four week tour to promote an album that debuted at number one on the reggae charts. Cas Haley is a truly gifted musician dedicated to his craft and he is poised to reveal that commitment to the world.
