The Unbelievable World of Modern Technology - Where Does Advertising Go Next?

I i can remember just a few short years ago when I first heard of text messaging, I said to myself "why would anybody want to send a text when you could just call them with the same device?" After it rolled around in my head for a few minutes I thought of a few ways where it could be beneficial: Talk in class, talk in private in a room full of people etc. But I noticed more and more people sent text messages no matter what the situation was, people just love to text and more important they love open a text.

Text messages have a 95% read rate, no other medium even comes close to this kind of instant exposure. People in general are impulsive and can be persuaded by ads to make an impulse purchase It only made sense that the market place would eventually take advantage of this new and exciting form of information sharing (Text Messages).

Of course like anything new on the market the price for such a valuable service tool was and still in some cases astronomical and could only be obtained and utilized by companies with big budgets like Coca Cole, Coors and American Idol just to name a few. As the competition grew in the market place with more and more companies offering this kind of service the cost has began to settle down to the point where more and more companies and organizations can afford to join texting generation. There are some texting services companies that have now taken to a whole new level with such features as text to vote, polling, mms pictures and multi time release.

These new texting tools allows companies and organizations to easily build unlimited subscriber list. For instance if you were a pizza shop owner and you set up a contest using your text message service to win a free pizza and all the customer had to do to enter was send a text message. Let's say you ran that contest for a week, how many of the people that came in that week do you think while waiting for their order would send a text message to your service to enter. I would say it would be safe to guess a pretty high number, what you have just done was start a subscriber list, because every one who entered the contest had their cell phone information stored in the back office of your text message system.

So now every time you want to send out any information or a coupon ad to those subscriber, all you would have to do is log into your system on any computer, type in your ad or information and hit send button on the computer. All texting systems come with an opt in and an opt out feature so people can unsubscribe at any time, people only receive updates if they so choose. Text Message Marketing has become affordable to every budget in the market place, from park vendor to park avenue retail store, these new text massage systems can help enhance any business or organization's ability to get their message instantly and most importantly, directly to their audience no matter where they are because the cell phone is the most direct form of communication.

The world has gone mobile and the business world is hot on its heels.
