Line guides and a reel keep your fishing line neat and orderly so you do not tangle it up.
If you are looking for a casting rod, you want a longer stick as that gives you an advantage when tossing that lure into the brush.
Going after the big ones? You are surely looking for something that will handle the fight of a whopper and handle the shock when the fish strikes the bait.
