How to Understand the Effects of Modern Technology on Today's Society

A simple way of understanding what went wrong in most of society today is a simple look at history. If you have some type of belief in Bible prophecy you might have heard something like "knowledge and technology" will be increased in the end of days...precisely!

Well that time called "the end of days" is here. We are way past the horse and buggy days and in fact we now travel everywhere in the world in matter of hours. Israel and some other countries have been developing flying cars and soon will be put in to production. People communicate in seconds via computers, cell phones, etc. Let's stop and realize this increase of knowledge has been within the last 100 years. The following are just some of the unbelievable inventions that our society today takes for granted and have become so dependent upon: Electricity, gas powered engines, treated public water, natural gas, airplanes, cars, light bulbs, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers, stoves, refrigerators, televisions, radios, telephones, cell phones, computers, grocery stores, general stores, heavy equipment, tires, batteries, nuclear power, nuclear bombs, biological weapons, missiles, sophisticated navy warships, satellites, rockets, space travel, etc. etc. the list goes on and on.

I think that you will agree that all these material advances have just turned up within the last 100 years or less. Does this make us wonder how in the world people managed 1900 years after Christ and before Christ as well? Should we all be aware of this and start asking questions like:

1. Am I in a traffic jam rat race to feed and house my family for a reason? 2. What would happen if suddenly my family didn't have electricity, gasoline, water or a grocery store to get food? 3. Why and what are the implications of nations poised with weapons of mass destruction and hate towards other religions?

4. If all this knowledge and technology is throwing us into a world of economic crisis with wars and rumors of wars, where are headed? What could this mean for me and my family?

Well the answers to these questions don't need a rocket scientist, but perhaps Murphy's Law would be more appropriate ("If it can happen, it will"). Yes, more than likely you are in traffic with everyone else to feed and house your family. Yes there probably will be a day when you don't have electric, gas or a nearby food store. Yes, the chance of world war 3 is inevitable because of the mere existence of the weapons. Yes it looks like the way things are going, it could be soon.

What should I do now? Is there a way out? Well besides joining the Amish or selling all your belongings, moving to the country, establishing old world methods of livestock, gardens, wood stoves, etc., there is only one true way out. Realizing that Jesus Christ is real and the only way to Heaven is through him is the best advice and truth in the world. Once you understand that the bible (King James Version) is the real word of the true God, it is easy to understand what is happening, why and our purpose here on Earth.
