Easy Bachelor Party Planning Tips

Today, if you say bachelor party, almost everyone thinks the same thing - lots of alcohol, barely clad women and lots of wild exploits. This type of bachelor party still seems high on many men's list of a great bachelor party even though it does present some problems, not only for the next day (traditionally the wedding day) but also with the future wife.

There are few women who appreciate their future husband dancing around with a semi-nude woman who has been hired to make this a "special" night for him. They also don't want to worry whether the groom-to-be is going to be in any shape to make it to the ceremony much less walk down the isle. This is her special day and to look into a hung-over groom eyes and say "I do" is not part of the wonderful day she had planned.

If you are doing the bachelor party planning, for future happiness of both the bride and groom, plan carefully. You do not want to cause any problems between the future husband and wife and you want to make sure your party guests have a great time but stay safe as well.

There are many different types of bachelor parties today. Many find that getting the guys together for a sporting event, planning an outdoor fun such as water rafting or skiing, or paintball is more their style. Others find poker night or an evening at an arcade to their liking.

Whatever type of party you plan, remember:

  • Keep the groom's likes and dislikes in mind. After all, this party is for HIM.
  • It is up to you and the other groomsmen to pay for all the festivities. The groom should not be asked to pay for anything that evening.
  • Only those invited to the wedding should be asked to the bachelor party.

And finally a few tips:

  • Plan the bachelor party a week before the wedding. That way, the groom (and the rest of the male wedding party) will be well rested for the ceremony.
  • Whatever type of party you plan or wherever you plan on hosting it, be sure there is plenty of food and drink available.
  • If alcohol is involved, make arrangements for everyone to have a ride home. Doing this will allow all the guests to party as long as they want and still get home safely.
  • If your party is at a place that serves alcohol, be sure that everyone has proper ID. It would be a shame someone would have to leave, and possibly miss most of the party, due to not having this with him.
