Poole Dorset, Nightlife and Entertainment Guide

Poole Dorset is located on the second biggest natural harbour in the world and has probably the very best beach in the country, located right near to the Quay. Sandbanks nearby is the most expensive place to purchase and own a property in the whole of the UK, owing to its prime location overlooking Poole harbour.

So if you like the sea intimate dinners and beautiful yachts then this is definitely the place to see. If you cannot afford the big yachts and the house prices, then it is an opportunity to browse for the dreamer in you. Poole quay itself is a mariners dream and has lots to see and do.

Poole restaurants are generally of a high standard and if you have not been to Corkers on the quay
for a meal then you will definitely be in for a real treat as they serve up some exceedingly tasty seafood as well as many other exceptional dishes. There are a good selection of restaurants in Poole and should there not cater for every taste, Bournemouth which is 10 minutes away certainly does! A lot of the restaurants are situated on Poole Quay with great views and some are tucked away just behind the Quay. In my opinion it is a great place to eat out especially in the summer.

There are many attractions located in Poole and Wimborne and all of Dorset's best attractions are literally no more than half an hours drive from Poole Town. Brownsea Island, opposite Poole Quay, is an English Heritage Wildlife Preserve and there are many cheap cruises in and amongst the islands that surround Poole Harbour. If your budget is larger, then you may wish to charter a boat and explore for yourself. There is not much better than being on a nice boat cruising around all of the sites. Exceptional summer destination, and is less frantic than Bournemouth right next door.

As for activities, being so close to Bournemouth and Christchurch there is the biggest selection of activities available anywhere on the south coast. There are several theaters, a leisure complex called Tower Park, which is the biggest dedicated leisure complex in the Country. It hosts many different restaurants, Bingo, Bowling, Cinemas, Arcades and much more. This is located right in Poole. The BIC Theater in Bournemouth which is renowned for attracting big names and concerts throughout the year. This is also close to Poole and Poole itself has a well known theater called The Lighthouse. There is also Poole Stadium which is home to one of the top teams in Speedway in the UK, as well as, Greyhound Racing and other events.
