The Dark Horses Of The Indian Team - ICC World Cup 2011

The ICC world cup 2011 is being hosted in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from the 19th February 2011. The first match in the series will be played between India and Bangladesh in Mirpur. The final match of the tournament will be played on the 2nd April 2011 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. This world cup is the tenth held till now. Australia is the defending champion this time also. However, as the tournament is being jointly hosted by the South Asian cricket playing countries, the Indian team is the favorite and serious contender this time.

The big guns of the Indian cricket are Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virendra Sehwag, Zahir Khan, Gautam Gambhir and Harbhajan Singh who will most probably remain in the playing eleven this time also. However, cricket is a team game. Individual performances sometimes matter very much but consistent performance of the players of the team is absolutely necessary. If the whole team plays as a unit, victory may not be far away from sight. In this article we are going to focus on the three players who have been included in the fifteen member squad. This is the first world cup match for all the three.

Virat Kohli:

Virat Kohli was born on the 5th November 1988 in Delhi. He is the third player to be watched during the tournament.
