IIRO distributes relief goods among 5,000 flood-hit families |

MUZAFFARGARH, Feb 26 (APP) - Islamic International Relief Organization (IIRO) has distributed 10 truckloads of relief goods among 5,000 flood affected families during last two days in Muzaffargarh, DG Khan and Layyah districts. The relief goods were transported by boats to some areas where there was no bridge or road for access. An IIRO delegation led by Rabta Alam-e-Islami deputy director Mohammad Javed Butt distributed relief goods including quilts, clothes, milk, dates, and other items among people.
IIRO distributed five truckloads of relief goods among the people in Layyah, Daira Deen Panah, and Basti Narian, a village in suburbs of Taunsa Sharif tehsil of district DG Khan on Saturday. IIRO media cell said that 2500 families of Taunsa Sharif, 1000 families of Daira Deen Panah and Pul Hazara and 1500 families from Kiror, and Warian village of district Layyah received the relief goods. Notables and community leaders thanked IIRO on the occasion and raised slogan in support of Pak-Saudi Arabia friendship. Mohammad Javed Butt said that IIRO served all the flood hit people across Pakistan and its medical teams not only provided treatment facilities to the patients but also sprayed anti-germ medicines in the affected areas. IIRO also installed water filtration plants and has distributed food packages among Lakhs of families so far. He said that relief activities were in progress in the affected areas. He appreciated the Saudi Arabia and its ambassador in Pakistan for the much needed support being provided to the flood hit Pakistanis. |
